Book XIV: Raymond Dart

Home

Many years spent following the highways and byways of Raymond Dart’s life and work have reinforced my initial impression of its importance to those of us who wish to consider Alexander’s legacy in the broadest possible context. Both men were far ahead of their time and both applied their fndings to their personal development, practising what they preached and preaching what they practiced. I hope this collection will encourage others to view the Alexander Technique from Dart’s global perspective.                                                                 Alex Murray, Skill and Poise: Introduction

Summaries, excerpts, and transcriptions, and commentary (Dart; Carrington; Murray)
"The Dart Procedures" (Murray) Direction Journal
The Meaning of Poise: The Insights of Raymond Dart (Stenstrom and McCullough)

It seems to me that it is only as individual people who have learned to use the Technique as a way of life, carry it into various sphere of work, that Alexander’s ideas will come to percolate into the general atmosphere of thought.
